The design cues for this engagement ring were taken from a family heirloom ring, which also had small diamonds tucked in tightly on the sides. But rather than having a diamond center stone, as in the original, the choice was made to use a sapphire. Color and shape were paramount in the decision process, with the ultimate selection being this rare, vivid blue and very lively oval sapphire.
